How many articles, parts and schedules are there in Indian constitution?
Indian constitution adopted in 26th November 1949 and 26th January 1950 is the lengthiest written constitution of the world.
In the original constitution, it contained 22 parts, 395 articles and 8 schedules.
Now it has 25 parts, 448 articles, 12 schedules, 5 appendices and 98 amendments while the last article is numbered 395 only. The last amendment was 101st amendment for Goods and Service Tax Act 2016.

Schedules of the Indian constitution
Schedules are lists in the Constitution that categorise and tabulate bureaucratic activity and policy of the Government.
  • 1) First Schedule- States & Union Territories of India2) Second Schedule- Emoluments and salaries for holders of Constitutional posts like President, Vice President,etc
    3) Third Schedule- Forms of affirmation & Oaths for constitutional Posts
    4) Fourth Schedule- Allocation of Seats of various States & Union Territories to council of states i.e. Rajya Sabha
    5) Fifth Schedule- Provisions as to the Administration and Control of Scheduled Areas and Scheduled Tribes in various states Article 244 (1) .
    6) Sixth Schedule- Provisions as to the Administration of Tribal Areas in the States of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram Article 244 (2) and Article 275 (1) .
    7) Seventh Schedule - Union list + State List + Concurrent List Article 246.
    8) Eighth Schedule- 22 official Languages of India.
    9) Ninth Schedule- This schedule enumerates land and tenure reforms; the accession of Sikkim with India.
    10) Tenth Schedule - Anti Defection Law.
    11) Eleventh Schedule- This schedule covers important topics such as Panchayat's powers, rural development, poverty alleviation, Article 243 (G) .
    12) Twelfth Schedule- Twelfth Schedule of the Indian constitution contains the powers, authority and responsibilities of Municipalities.Article 243 (W).
