Silk Routes
The silk routes were the land and sea routes that linked Europe, North Africa and South East Asia used for exchange of commodities like silk, muslin cloth and spices besides trade and culture.They are known to have existed from BC till the 15th Century.
Christian missionaries and Muslim preachers travelled through this route to Asia. Buddhism emerged from eastern India to spread in China, Thailand and other countries through the silk route.
